Terms & Conditions - Divorce Conference 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply to registration and participation in the Divorce Conference 2026 (“the Conference”), organised in collaboration between SES Family ApS, the University of Copenhagen, the ROCKWOOL Foundation and the European Divorce Network.
By registering for the Conference, you accept these Terms & Conditions and acknowledge the processing of your personal data as described below.
2. Data Controllers and Joint Responsibility
For the purpose of organising and conducting the Conference, the following organisations act as joint data controllers:
• SES Family ApS
• University of Copenhagen
• The ROCKWOOL Foundation
• The European Divorce Network
The parties have entered into a joint data controller arrangement in accordance with Article 26 of the GDPR.
3. Personal Data Collected
Upon registration, the following personal data is collected:
• Name
• Email address
• Job or academic title
• Organisation
• Country
• Phone number
No sensitive personal data is collected or processed as part of the conference registration.
4. Purpose of Processing
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
• Administration of conference registration and participation
• Practical communication related to the Conference
• Academic and professional networking among participants
• Inclusion in the European Divorce Network
• SES Family newsletter
Your data will not be used for commercial marketing purposes besides news from and about SES Family. Unsubscribing the SES family newsletter will not affect your ability to attend the Conference.
5. Sharing of Personal Data
Your personal data will be shared only between the joint data controllers listed above and only for the purposes described in section 4.
Personal data is not shared with third parties outside this collaboration.
6. Data Processors
The following data processors may have access to personal data solely for technical and operational purposes and without any right to use or share the data independently:
• Microsoft Azure (cloud hosting)
• Salesforce (CRM)
• Umbraco (website and content management)
• Apply Agency (technical development and support)
All processors act under data processing agreements compliant with GDPR Article 28.
7. Membership of the European Divorce Network
By submitting your registration or abstract, you agree to become part of the European Divorce Network.
You may unsubscribe from the network at any time by contacting: dimitri.mortelmans@uantwerpen.be
Unsubscribing will not affect your ability to attend the Conference.
8. Legal Basis
The legal basis for processing your personal data is:
• GDPR Article 6(1)(a) – consent
• GDPR Article 6(1)(b) – necessary for performance of a contract (conference participation)
• GDPR Article 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest in academic collaboration and networking
9. Storage and Deletion
Personal data will be stored only as long as necessary for the purposes stated above and will be deleted no later than 24 months after the Conference, unless a longer retention period is required by law or renewed consent is given.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Request access to your personal data
• Request rectification or deletion
• Object to or restrict processing
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant Data Protection Authority
